The Italian American Theatre of Chicago thanks Yad Vashem for their recognition of nearly 700 Italians as “Righteous Among the Nations” for their acts of courage and compassion, sheltering and aiding Italian Jews during WWII. On March 17, at 2 p.m., Chicago’s Illinois Holocaust Museum will feature a documentary about some of these heroes, among them champion cyclist, Gino Bartali, who smuggled fake ID’s in his bicycle frame. Consul General Giuseppe Finochiarro will welcome guests, and Holocaust survivor, Dr. Adina Sella, will participate in a conversation following the screening. If you are interested in attending, see the link below. Reservations are required.
